Car Title Question

Hi guys,
I have a question. I was sorting my important documents this evening and checked out my car title. The car title shows the original plate number in there during the time I bought it (I am the 2nd owner).

I already got a different plate number last September but I can't remember if I got a new car title for that OR should I be expecting a new one?. Will I be getting a new car title for that since I already got a new plate number last September?

Sorry if this question is a dumb question for you but I am just wondering and a little bit worried for I don't remember receiving a new car title or I might have misplaced it. :crybaby:

When you register the car for the first time in your name, you give the title to the DMV clerk (the old title from the previous owner)
Then you will get a new title in your name in the mail in a few weeks.

If you just simply changed plates, but the owner stayed the same, you do not get a new car title, you just keep the old one, it's still good. You only get a new title when there's a new owner...
I'm not sure what has to be done if the title is misplaced.

You don't say where you are located so it may differ but here in Massachusetts it works as Sputnik says. A call to your local DMV office should answer your questions. Good luck

Here in Mass we don't get a title til the loan is paid, the lien holder will have the title.
