Car won't start sometimes and when cold?

Hey everyone,

Just had my valve cover gaskets done and noticed after a recent trip to some trails with shallow water crossings (mentioning this because it all might be related) that now sometimes (1 out of 5-6 times) the car wont start when I first put the key in the car and start to start the car.

Seems like everything turns on fine, lights, etc. I'll turn the key and get nothing, no noises or anything. Then ill untwist the key, and try again and boom it works.

Any ideas? I'd like to fix this before it gets worse.

Thanks

I'd start by checking the starting basics like battery voltage-at least 12.7 (though you can also take it to a walmart or auto zone to get a more thorough batt check).

Check batt/starter connections, though they're probably fine since it starts most of the time, just in case.

After this I would begin to suspect the ignition switch. Other than taking it to a locksmith, not sure how to help there but search on here for DIY stuff on that. Luck. :cowboy:
