Car Wont Start

from what i have read on the internets, new sending unit doesnt solve everyones problems--not at all saying its not worth a shot though.

when you do it, theres an access panel under the rear driver side seat and carpet, you can disconnect the harness before you drop(or at least from the top after you drop it slightly)

OP: I have had this happen to me before, too. To this day I don't know what it was. I wasn't high in the rpm's when it happened to me, though. It's possible you got some bad gas, or a partially clogged fuel filter, or something somewhat benign like that though.

I've read that too. The gauge is at fault when the gas gauge reads all over the place all the time and there is no pattern.

Mine has a pattern, after 1/4 of a tank, it reads empty. This indicates the Sender is worn out.

Pattern ---> Sender

No Pattern ---> Gauge

Sorry for the repeated off topic forum gods, please forgive me:

I've read conflicting things on it. Mine has a distinctive pattern, like youre's but it does it at 1/2 tank, I never got anything so conclusive from my forum readings...

anyhow, I'll have to actually try to fix it one of these days.

I'll keep you updated for when i reach 1/4 a tank and see what happens with my gauge. I may have the same problem as you.

This might not be true all the time, but out of the 5 or 6 people I've helped with there fuel gauge, this has always been true.
