CARFAX - Does anyone have access?

1. Never think any vehicle is the 1, unless your talking an ultra rare 1922 Model T with Mr. Ford's singniture... otherwise, thinking it is "the one" means you act without thinking and regret it.
2. Hold on. I assumed you were talking about a 4th gen, since you posted in the 4th gen area. 4th gen's being 2003-2009. 32 records for that is, in my opinion, too many.
BUT.. your not talking about a 4th gen, are you? Your talking about a 1998 4 runner.. well now son... 32 records might be explainable. Some states classify registration and emissions independent of each other... that gets you really close to 32 records for a 1998 truck.
The moral? Buy the DAMN carfax and stop "guessing"..
Then come back and post the results for us... we will give you an honest evaluation.

If carfax reports something like an accident..then it's probably correct. What's wrong with carfax is the stuff they DON'T report. There are many many people who purchase vehicles with a CLEAN carfax report...only to find out the vehicle was in an accident. If it's not reported to carfax then it won't show up on their records. Carfax even admits they can only collect data on 5% of all accidents. That means that 95% of all accidents carfax knows nothing about.
Like, for example, why it was salvaged out..
It had to have been in a pretty serious accident, as I don't recall a hurricane going through Canada any time in the past ever....
This is where carfax is useless. We can see clearly that something happened for the DMV to no longer consider it a safe vehicle, to brand it as such, and then have it rebuilt..
Ok. Why? Who knows.. not worth the gamble. It could be something simple or something serious....
