Just a FYI on Carfax, I would use the information it gives with a grain of salt.
It is notoriously wrong surprisingly often.

Will completely miss accidents and in some cases say the car was in an accident when it wasn't.

I would use it as just another source of possible information about a vehicle but do not rely on it completely.

One of the things about Carfax I like is you will learn where your vehicle spent it's life and also be able to fairly accurately verify mileage based upon title transfers and smog tests.

My 4Runner (one owner) also showed as being in an accident. I pulled the accident report and it said White 4Runner. Mine is and always has been gray metallic.

I got in touch with the original owner and he said the dealer they traded the vehicle in to also flagged that.

The vehicle has never been wrecked. Of that I am 100% sure after inspecting it with a fine tooth comb.

Yeah dude CARFAX will not disclose accidents - REPEAT WILL NOT DISCLOSE ALL ACCIDENTS.

You need to have the vehicle inspected by a body shop or mechanic who can check for past accidents.

Also you should have a compression test done. Thats just my 2 cents but as most of the vehicles are over 120K miles it is just a smart thing to do.
