Morning,

Did a quick search, but didnt find my answer. I have a new to me 2006 sport and am ordering a cargo liner. How do I tell if my Runner had the second shelf option? The deck is not there, but I don't want to order the wrong liner. Thanks for helping the newbie! :wink2:

doesn't look like there are any mounting brackets...I guess what is making me question is the truck came with two carpeted toyota cargo mats and one of them is 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the other. Thanks

3rd row

Lucky you huh ? If you search n the accessories thread might find some stuff about 3rd row ? Some of the guys posted info there .

let me ask another way

Is the bottom cargo floor plan of the 4runner different if it had the 2nd shelf, or is the second shelf and some hardware the only difference?

Thanks Oljedi for the suggestions, appreciate it!

3rd row

Yes , w/no 3rd its just an open area behind seat , storage on the sides & hook clips on side wall , I'm guessing you'd know . I kinda f-up myself n ordering a cargo mat & got 1 for 3rd row it's way smaller !

If you don't have the model year with 3rd row seating, which I believe were only available on 07+ model option, then you have a double decker/shelf model.

You would know it if you have a double decker shelf. It can lie flat and has a twist lock on either side. Once unlocked, it has a hinge about 6" away from the back seat, which allows it to lift up and fold. It then locks into place on the wheel wells using the same twist locking mechanism. The cargo liners for the double decker, are about 2" shorter than the entire cargo area with the shelf flat. This is for the thickness of the base when it folds up and converts to a shelf. I have a 2006, without the double deck or 3rd row system.

Pic below is what a non-double deck cargo area looks like

Seems weird that you don't have the double decker. I have it and mine has the smaller mat that goes on the shelf. Weird... Wonder how you ended up with that. You could also tell if it was removed because there would be a pretty sizeable gap behind the rear seats when they are up. Guess you already knew the answer to your question just a mystery how you ended up with a double decker mat
