cargo box question

so this is mainly towards ripcord and bigfishallday, but anyone can comment. So i've been looking at yalls cargo boxes an i'm planning on building my own, either this weekend or the next. i was wondering what all you put inside your boxes? what can you fit? thanks for any advise/knowledge!

I keep tools and small repair items in one drawer, camping and cooking items in the other drawer. In the front hatch, I keep my spare CV axle, work jumpsuit, come-a-long, some rope and other misc longer tools.

water, plus a couple of expandable water bags that I can fill if necessary
2 MRE's
survival blanket and poncho liner
small survival kit (compass, matches, knife, etc)

machete
hatchet
small tool kit
surefire flashlight and spare batteries
about 100 rounds of .40 ammo

Well, it was in a box that covered the entire floor of the cargo area, about 9 inches deep. But I wanted some extra cargo room for hunting season so I managed to pack it all in the side wells and under the seats (not easy).

I also didn't like the way the box had turned out: I simply knocked it together with scrap lumber and put some gray carpet over it, but it wasn't as strong as I wouldn't liked.

I was toying with the idea of a "true" full-length setup, with the back seats removed (we never use it, no kids). That way it could double as a sleeping platform. That's the setup I had in my Tundra with the camper shell on it: full-length, two big drawers, and a mattress on top. But my wife whined that it would be too "off-roady" for her (??).

This will probably be the excuse for me to buy a used/older 4runner, Landcruiser, or maybe even a Pinzgauer for myself and start from scratch. I'll just put a snowplow on it in the winter and tell her it's for clearing the driveway...

Here's another possibility, something I threw together. The drawers have 100-lb. rated slides, so they can haul the goods and still open easily. I found I need to go with heavier-duty hardware for the locks, though--since using it, the bouncing on trails caused them both to tear off (although they have the tailgate directly behind them, so they can't open far).
