What are your guys' opinions on cargo covers? Do you actually use yours or is it sitting in the corner of your garage collecting dust? I'm also lookin for one too so drop me a line if you have a tan one.

Depends what your cargo is, the only time I've used my was when I had a few computers in the back. Otherwise, mine sits in the corner of the garage.
 
Last time I checked (2+ yrs ago), the dealer wanted $500 for one...I know, that's insane.

But good news is, you can usually find them for sale on ebay & craigslist for $100 or less if you really want one.

My 4Runner came stock with one and I didn't care for it, so I sold it a while back. Ebay IIRC.
 
I use mine all the time, the only way I ever take it out is to haul something large, then it goes right back in. I like the idea of being able to cover what's back there so wandering eyes can't see if there's something worth taking.
 
If you want to hide your cargo, just get your windows tinted. I sold mine for around $40 back in the summer, it was tan to... lol.
 
I rarely use mine and it sits in the garage 99.9% of the time. If I was keeping my 3rd gen I'd sell it to you (yes, it's tan) but I'm hoping it'll be one of the selling points for the truck.
 
Mine came with one and it is used 100% of the time.

It is really nice for covering my audio equipment.

Tint just doesn't work sometimes.
 
i would love one but don't you also need a few trim pieces and some stuff to mount it? cutting involved?

Could someone explain how they put one in theirs if they didnt have one to start with? I'm planning to install one, I would love to know what im getting into.

Rock Slide- Yeah i went to a dealership a month ago and they quoted on at like $520 which is completely ridiculous.

Nuke- Yeah thats one of the things i was looking for in a vehicle and the runner i got has everthing else but no cc.

ChildrenOfBodom- Yeah im thinking if your truck doesn't have the 4 trim pieces already in it then there probably would be some cutting involved, that's pretty much all i know...
 
i also want one now since i have subs. i believe last week on ebay the cheapest was around 30 dollars plus another 30 to ship it.

I think it would be hard to get all the cuts right and just don't think it would work.
 
I use mine to cover my sound system in the back. I wish it stored better when not in use (some place to easily place it in the truck, rather than having to take it out) Hmm... mod maybe?

I got mine off seattle craigslist. pretty much checked everyday till someone posted. $100.00 bucks but no shipping. good luck.

and yes it's nice to have.
