cargo liner for rear sliding tray

I've been digging through the forums to see what sort of cargo liner is available for the sliding rear cargo tray, but I can't find a whole lot. Most of the threads I found are a bit old, so I wanted to post again to see if any new stuff may have come out.

So, does anyone have any info and/or pictures of good solutions that work with the rear sliding tray? Husky has something, but they don't have a pic of it on their website, and they mention it has a problem with the little cargo divider and that has to be removed.

Good luck, the aftermarket accessories for the 5th GEN suck IMO. My dog has been driving me nuts lately sliding around back there and I've yet to find anything to put back there.

I went to Home Depot, they had a 60-inch HEAVY rubber mat (about 1/2 inch thick). I cut two corners a bit so it would fold up over the wheel wells.

It covers the sliding deck and then goes up over the wheel wells and covers them too. Doesn't move at all, can be hosed off, and is perfect for my 2 boxers.

I will try to get a photo up soon. Cost: $30.00

Instead of starting another thread of Husky vs Weathertech, I'm just gonna post here what Husky shared with me for those interested (primarily because I've yet to see anyone post pics of the rear cargo mats here).

The third pic that TOYSTORY posted is the Husky mat for the trucks with sliding rear cargo tray. I have it. There are a few problems with it and I would not recommend it if these things bother you:
1. You cannot access the long skinny compartment from the rear gate of the vehicle very easily because the mat covers it. Note: you CAN still use the sliding cargo tray just fine as long as you don't have too much weight sitting right on the part that is right under the second row seat backs.
2. If you did not remove the sliding cargo tray stopper/flip-up barrier, then the mat doesn't really fit nice and smooth over it. I removed my barrier, so it is now smooth. The pic that was posted appears to be the mat over top of the stopper, and you can see how it is a linear lump right there.
3. It is somewhat slippery for doggies.
4. It covers up the cargo area tie downs closer to the front of the vehicle (unlike the 3rd row seat Husky, which appears to have slots for that).

I am thinking of just covering the carpeted area only with some softer rubber, like the kind from HD mentioned above, but this kind of bothers me too because then you don't have as much coverage...I guess with the sliding cargo tray, there is just not a real clear solution yet as far as I can see, but this Husky will do for now! Hope that helps people.

FWIW, I absolutely LOVE the Husky floor mats for the front and back seats...highly recommended!

I have the husky for the sliding tray and it is an excellent product. It has endured some abuse and saved my cargo area. No regrets here

I'm with the others though on the sliding cargo tray......not my cup of tea. I need something that my dog can grip his paws/nails into so he's not sliding all over the place during our trips to the dog park. So far, nothing is available with a rubbery, not plasticy, slippery surface. Either rubber got too expensive over the years or everyone thinks plastic cargo mats are the way to go? :repuke:

All I did was take the sliding tray carpet mat and flip it over. It has a rubber type backing and nothing heavy slides around. I realize that not all 4R's may come with this extra mat, but it has worked for me.

Yeah thanks for the pics I was real curious about the sliding cargo tray I hate buying something and having to return it if its not what I thought it was or seeing how it actually fits.

Thanks for the input, it was very helpful. I will have to reconsider if Husky is the way to go, but doesnt seem like there are many other alternatives out there at the moment.

Digging this thread up from the past!

If I'm thinking correctly, for my Trail with sliding tray, I could remove the tray and mounting bracket (leaving some metal and stuff exposed in a few places) and place the Husky (or WeatherTech) mat in the rear and have everything covered (like the second picture above) - right?

JREITER— I have a 2012 Limited with the sliding cargo tray...I'm running a Husky Liner on top of a Canvasback.

I will admit, I am very impressed with the fit of the Canvasback, but I expected that the dog paws would murder it over time. So that's why I added the Husky.

I will admit, when the Husky arrived, I immediately installed it and looked at it thinking "really??". THAT is how this thing fits?

Frankly, it looks pretty awkward to me, and the high lip on top of the already raised cargo tray just kind of looks goofy. After adding the ICON lift and opening my tailgate for the dogs to load up, they looked up at it as if they were looking at a mountain..."we have to jump THAT high???" (get in there, Mutt!).

I also think the plastic /rubber is a bit harder than I hoped for. I can hear the dogs nails "ticking" on the hard rubber— a softer material would have been my preference, as it would have been quieter and offered better traction for the pups when I take my legendary 5G turns.

After being slightly annoyed with the awkward fit of the Husky on the cargo tray—as well as the seemingly too tall height with the lip— I think I'm going to move forward with doing Harper7's mod and just remove the sliding cargo tray as a whole. Then I'll add a little sound deadening and slap the Husky back in...although I may strongly consider just getting a mat made for Runners without the tray and selling my Husky.

The Husky isn't a bad product, it just isn't my preference...and I think they got a little lazy on the fit. I have no doubt it does a good job protecting the back end, and its ability to contain spills and water is unquestionable.

I just bought a 13 Limited and I probably researched what kind of mat to use on the sliding tray more than anything else on the entire truck. Prior to this vehicle I had an 07 Limited with the fold up cargo shelf, and although I love Weathertech (I had the floor liners front and back, and have them in my new 5th gen as well) it always bothered me that it never fit quite right. The edges never quite lined up, they folded over sometimes. Functionally it was great, but aesthetically it wasn't so hot.

I work for a dealer group that has a Toyota store, so when I ordered the 5th Gen, I called the Parts Dept and talked to one of the guys who recommended the OEM all weather cover for the sliding tray. Here are some photos installed...

Overall I'm much happier with the fit of this one than I was the weather tech in my 4th Gen. The corners might pop up from time to time and its probably a bit thinner than the Weathertech or the Husky, but its molded and looks much better IMHO. I put it to the test today with 3 bags of soggy potting soil that leaked all over it. A little garden hose action and she's good as new again.

I don't have the part # on hand at the moment, but if anyone needs it I'll be happy to call the dealer in the morning and get it.
