The little footrest thing by the driver's side kick panel came off my carpet and I want to glue it back down.

Anyone have a recommendation for the right adhesive?

LOL, I put a new carpet in 4 years ago & saved that piece but still haven't looked into how to adhere it to the carpet. :D

I think something like Crazy glue or similar is too thin & toxic & could melt the carpet fibers. Maybe Rubber Cement, nice, thick & non toxic.

Look forward to some answers here.

Whatever adhesive you use, clean the carpet and especially the rubber piece as thoroughly as possible.
I'd probably use epoxy, but that's just because my Shoe/Marine/Auto Goo gets old and goes bad in the tube.
Epoxy never goes bad.

I recently used some 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive that I got from Lowe's to glue my fabric trim back to the door.

Like others have said. Clean the two surfaces, then I would hit the carpet pretty good, as well as the backof the rubber. Have something heavy on hand to hold it down firmly to give it the best chance of adhesion.

mine did the same thing. I just used gorilla glue. it's been stuck on there ever since. Even elmers glue would probably work. Just let it dry over night with some pressure. I just put a shoe on it to hold it on.

Some of the other solutions mentioned are probably better, but i just broke out my hot glue gun. Its been about a year and a half, no problems..
