So I am getting my spark plugs and wires done while I am getting my valve cover gasket done. They said they are going to put NGK plugs in and Car quest Spark plug wires and boots?? Anyone have any experience with CarQuest stuff? Should I spend the extra $60 on the OEM wires?

Take OEM wires. I went with NGK for a year, and again went back to OEM.

I however, bought Carquest CV axles for my cruser a few minutes ago! The discount got me!

we have used quite a lot of carquest stuff here at the shop. it used to be pretty good stuff. if they are still carquest parts, then they are probably fine.
however, advanced auto parts recently acquired carquest, and overall, im not impressed. they are on the same level as autozone now...as far as im concerned...

Not saying this because I now work at Advance, but I'd take out stuff over AutoZone or O'Rielly's any day.

Of course,OEM is the way to go though.

I completely agree, I've worked for advance for 4 years, I see a lot better quality than they used to have, far better than Orielly and Autozone, plus the reason we were all told for the carquest buy out was to pick up some of their product lines that were proprietary to carquest. And if you come into an Advance half of the product packages are carquest boxes. From my personal experience and with the shops I work with Carquest branded products are very good. Just my .02 cents.

This is great to know for future stuff. Thanks so much. What products would you draw the line on?

Honestly, chassis/suspension, and ball joints, don't cheap out on that, I work for advance but I buy all that from toyota only.

i don't know man. we used to use carquest stuff almost exclusively, but since the switch to advanced, we use Oreillys a lot more. because the quality went downhill.
its a sad day when oreillys carries the good stuff...

they may yet be. if you can get the carquest brand stuff.
the advance/wearever stuff is questionable...

true, the wearever stuff has never been great. Its funny tho, they carry more carquest stuff in the advance store now than carquest carries.
