The check engine light and the TRAC off lights came on on my 2015 4 runner with 162000 miles. The diagnostic report states P0430 code - catalyst bank 2 efficiency low. I was told that I need to replace the pipe assy exhaust pipe/ catalyst converter at a cost of $1,400. I searched online and found out that it can be a loose gas cap and to tighten it and to disconnect the battery cable to reset it. After doing that the lights turned off but two days later both lights are back on. Could it be something else other than replacing the converter? Want to be sure before paying $1,400. I’m told that my car is not too old for it to be the catalyst.
