I am having some issues with my Catalytic Converters. The check engine light went on a few months ago. Toyota replaced the O2 sensors, then a couple of days later, the engine light came back on. Toyota replaced them again, but the same thing happened. They now say that the Catalytic converters need to be replaced. $2200.00...... Do I have any other options?? Are there any good aftermarket Cats out there?

Same thing happened to me. They found code p0420, catalyst efficiency below threshold. They relpaced the cat under warrenty since in at 77k but they also extended my cat warrenty another 80k! Im taking it you have more than 80k so im gonna go with skyak on this one. Good luck! :cheers:
Bypass O2 sensors- offroad use only to be legal!
These guys make a simulator that plugs into your harness instead of the O2 sensors.

A few points, though:
1. Yes, this eliminates the dreaded cat codes, such as P0420 and others.
2. Yes, it is adaptive, not just 5v
3. NO, an emissions station is not supposed to pass your on road vehicle IF they see this device. A visual inspection is supposed to be part of the inspection
4. This is for OFF ROAD use only. What does that mean? It means it works, your 4Runner and its computer are happy, but it is not allowed to bypass EPA certified components- when used in an onroad vehicle
I'm not associated with the company in any way, but I have seen it in action. It works. Not all of these "sims" work as advertised.
Personally, after reading about all the people who are spending big money on cats and still not passing due to some overly strict Toyota programming (beyond EPA levels), I would certainly consider trying it if my 4Runner had this problem
BTW, the dual version is the one I've seen the most.
