It sounds like something else is the problem.. Stuck injector or bad MAF or O2 signal. To much fuel will give you the rotton egg smell which is the catalytic converter working.
The catalytic converter turns CO and NOx into CO2 and NO? Basically converts a green house gas (bad for enviroment) into a gas that is not bad for the enviroment. Yours is working very hard.

The rotten egg smell, if you drive with your rear window down, roll it up or have a modification done to your exhaust that will dump the exhaust fumes out to the side instead of directly behind your vehicle. AS far as your gas milage, track the milage yourself, the gas milage computer in the truck is known to be incorrect at times.
I would look into new spark plugs, tire pressure, & air filter.
2 of The catalytic converters are part of your exhaust mainfold and they are very expensive to replace, part & the labor. Replacement of the catalytic conv. should be a last resort thing. Everyone has the rotten egg smell, so if you think new catatlytic converters will get rid of it, I wouldnt bet money on it. Its your engine in essence producing the smell. If your cats go bad you will have a check engine light come on. Possible fix could also be to "sea foam" the system.

rotten egg smell from what I've read here is normal. Though I can't say I've ever experienced it personally. With the rear window down even before my exhaust tip mod.
"Substantial" fuel economy drop to me would mean one thing. It seems to be a trend here that most people that notice a substantial decrease often find it attributed to the infamous "frozen caliper". Do look at the stuff that folks mentioned above, but if I were a betting man... an easy way to check this would be to take the back of your hand and feel close to your rotors after a good drive. If you've got one that is unusually hot compared to the others, chances are, you're gonna need a new caliper.

Yes you NEED one. By federal law you can NOT remove it. You can replace it..but you can't remove it. Fines up to $10,000 if you do.

I'd be more interested on a link to where you got that number from.
I was wrong...The penalty is lot higher from what I remember...The MAXIMUM penalty is now $25,000 per vehicle. A company that tampers with emissions can be fined up to $25,000....Where as individuals who do it to their own vehicle can be fined up to $2,500. At least that's the way it was explained to me. Here's an except from the link..
Under Section 205(a) of the Act, 42 U.S.C. 8 7524(a), the maximum penalty for
violations of the vehicle and engine requirements under Title I1 of the Act is $25,000 per vehicle
or engine, with two exceptions. The maximum penalty for violations of the tampering
prohibition when committed by any person other than a manufacturer is $2,500 per vehicle, and
the maximum penalty for violations of the defeat device prohibition is $2,500 per device.
These maximum penalty amounts were increased from $25,000 to $32,500 and from $2,500 to
$2,750 for violations occurring after March 15,2004, through January 12,2009, and to $37,500
and $3,750 for violations occurring thereafter (see Civil Monetarv Penalty Inflation Ad-iustment m,

Let me add:
The rotten egg smell is totally normal. That smell, the sulfur, is a normal and expected by product of the chemical reaction occurring within your exhaust system.
It indicates your system is WORKING normally.
If your vehicle is running poorly and too much un-burnt exhaust is entering your cat \, that isn't a problem of your cats and you should look elsewhere.

You are correct that the rotten egg smell is sulfur it's in your fuel and oil. Change brands of gasoline and oil, it should go away in two tanks if you switch to better fuel. Not higher octane better fuel. Also see if you can get pure 100% gasoline. The E10 or higher will reduce mileage. Around here the pumps are marked. If you have no engine codes cleaning your MAF will help. Air cleaner mods can cause problems like leaks that dirty your MAF.

TSB on Sulfur Odor
I just looked up the TSB on your T4R. 2006-2009 V8. It lists a TSB No. EG005-06 to replace both front catalytic converters. It states that under stop and go driving and heavy acceleration owners complain of excessive sulfur odor. They have new catalytic converter assemblies 17410-50490 & 17450-50131. Sorry I missed that!
Another TSB # EG001-06 has to do with engine oil. They are saying to use ILSAC GF-4 Engine Oil. This oil is recommended for fuel economy and engine protection. Use 5W-20 in the V8.
