Looking to get a handheld cb, run the coax to an antenna. What mounts do you use and where did you mount it?

Thanks!

Hmm - this all depends on how far you want to transmit and receive.

I use a magnetic Wilson 5000 or a little will if i am traveling light.
I Pop that thing right behind the sunroof in the center of the vehicle. Run the cable to the back passenger door, under the seats and up to the radio.

The magnet chips the paint, but no one can see the top of my 4runner.

A permanent mount for a smaller radio would be the CBI hood mount (also used for driving lights)

I have seen some guys mount to the back by the latch, but i think that requires some drilling and tapping.

I would say search, but here lately i cannot get the search to work for me, even if type the exact name of the thread.

I use the Comet RS720. It attaches to the rear hatch, no drilling or holes. Tighten it down with a allen wrench that comes with it. Not one problem with it considering I've hit too many branches bending the antenna way back.

Not that its a quick and easy mounting solution but this is my current setup.
