CBI or Shrockworks??

Help! I can't decide between a CBI or Shrockworks. Looks wise I'd probably go with CBI, but it's more expensive and harder to install...and I really like SW option of textured powder coating...

I want a front bumper with the full grill protection and a plain rear bumper.

I like the looks of the CBI with the integrated vents that follow the stock vents. It lines up so well it almost looks factory. You could always get it bare metal and take it to your local powder coat shop and have them powder coat to your liking.

Did you install yourself, or take it somewhere? I'm wondering how much of a pain it is to cut the stock bumpers.

I installed it myself with help from my old man. The instructions from CBI aren’t very clear as to how some pieces should be cut. Just measure multiple times and take your time cutting the bumper and you’ll be good. After I installed it I could hear a rattle coming from the front left area when going over rough roads. Found that the left front fender area where it bolts to the body was rubbing against the bumper. I cut about half an inch off the bumper and now it’s nice and quiet. I also noticed that even thought the bumper has a cutout to allow the AC line to pass through without contact you’ll still get some and in my opinion will eventually cut a hole in the line. I also cut about half an inch off the lower part of the cutout and no more contact.

CBI does offer "Textured Powder Coat" at no extra cost.

Just needs to be ordered that way. For example, when ordering online with us, just add to notes; "textured"

Sorry for the confusion...

Powder Coat is an additional coast over bare metal, but getting "Textured" is available with the Powder Coat at no extra cost.

All of us just do not see "Textured" as an option, but it is available at special request.

When our Fulfillment Team submits an order with a "Textured" request, they just confirm CBI receives it. Otherwise just standard Powder Coat.

CBI wins in the looks department but the Shrockworks is a better price and I'd rather support them than CBI personally.

Very happy with my Schrockworks bumpers and sliders. No cutting involved on the front bumper.

I have SW bumper, sliders, and skids. Well built and fitment is good. I do say the CBI looks better but for me the deal breaker was cutting my factory bumper. SW has inserts (see pic below) that mimic the factory cut pieces of the CBI. That way you can put the factory back on if you want to sell the truck, or you can always get a few bucks and sell the bumper cover with the pieces/parts/hardware. Here is a couple of tips I figured out installing mine as a solo. Not easy but can be done.

Do you have the rear Shrockworks bumper as well? I ordered mine three weeks ago. I definitely like the Shrockworks rear over any other on the market.
