CBI Windshield Brackets oooooooooohhhhh my.....

CBI Windshield Light Brackets were installed today.

Left Center and Right views. Note: right side has a little "P" cut out

Really straight foward install.
-Remove three fender bolts 10mm
-open the door, under a rubber gasket cover
-under there is another 10mm holding the fender on
-total 4 10mm bolts
-close door
-get some cardboard and make a wedge, about 2" thick.
-pull fender out and put cardboard at base of windshield and fender
-this will expose the 2 12mm bolts that hold the hood hinge on.

NOTE: best to do this with a friend/helper once the two 12mm holding hood bracket on gets loose. the hood will move. you need a helper to help align the hood and get the brackets in.
MORE NOTES: get a socket extention. wobble head sockets. these will help your install.
EVEN MORE NOTES: there is a piece of the plastic windshield cowl that you need to remove. it just pops off. the bracket will be in the way, so you can put it back after the install

nothing glorious about taking the bolts off and figuring out how to wiggle the bracket to fit ON TOP of the factory hood bracket. use the supplied bolts. i didnt see them until i finished one side. LoL

This is where genius idea came up. Installed one lamp. As a joke how would it look with two? [MENTION=64712]CBI OffRoad Fab[/MENTION] you might want to consider this as a option. You see how well it works on my truck

Looks freaking good. So i drilled another hole and mounted one pair of floods and one pair of spots.

Hanma 1212's on top, real deal Rigid Dually D2's on the bottom. Rigids optics are soooooo much better than these cheapo ones.

The 2 pods on each side is a good idea. I may have to do this considering I have 4 lights 2 flood and 2 spot. It's either that or a CB antenna mount.

I'd put the flood lights in the lower valence or something. You probably don't want floods there because of hood glare. I'd go with two spots. After getting the brackets i'm relatively sure my big 6" HIDs will fit, i'll try and throw the brackets on friday/saturday.

That's a good point, I'm gonna try to get mine put on this weekend when I'm with my uncle (off road guy).

zak, with these cheapo hanma/bean/creed whatever lights. optics suck so hard, there will be no worry of hood glare LoL. if you had rigids to go there yes, then worry about it LoL.

Can you post some comparison output shots? like 1:1? I'm very curious. Is the flood beam more like a spot?

No they build the brackets off my truck though. I mounted my Cb antenna where you put the inner light on the passenger side

Why not just use a Comet antenna mount off the back hatch? I think 2 light + antenna will be cluttered looking.

keep in mind paint color will dictate the amount of glare, your darker color would not reflect the same amount of light Zopperman's or HHI's colors would.

No, flood's are floods spots are spots, a spot is going to have less of an output angle than a flood, they can produce the same number of lumans though.

X2 for a comet mount they work great and are really simple to work with

I would have no problem doing it, but I'm going to be out if town at my uncles anyways and lets just say I asked for power tools and such for Christmas for a reason haha. Plus and I can make my uncle and his Heep jealous at the same time.
