Cd player not working

Well guys, my cd played decided to go bad on me : It is the original factory one from toyota, it is a single in dash cd player. I was wondering how can i fix it. What could it be, is it the loose wire or is something more complicated?
The problem is, it wouldn't go into the cd mode nor will it eject the cd out and the cd indicator isn't lighted up.
If you guys can help me out that would be awesome and thank you very much.

In my opinion... you should let it go and get something aftermarket. Fixing it, or getting something similar off eBay is gonna probably cost almost the same as a brand new CD/FM radio.

Yup....I agree. When my tape player went out I got an alpine CD player since the face is lit green like the 4runner. Looks better IMO.

Getting it fixed is basically impossible, and buying a OEM replacement wouldnt be very smart (unless you just LOVE the look and dont care about performance or price at all). Alpine makes some of the best head units out there... you can get them for under $200 online.

sony also makes green illumination, as well as eclipse.

If your looking for something relativley cost-effective..

finding yourself one of the $100 radios at a larger retail chain will get you free labor and you just need to buy the wiring harness

If you live near a Circuit City, go there buy a 99.99 radio
there is a 4.99 shop fee
a 18.99 (MET801761)

Ask them to solder the harness..and that you dont want to use a smart harness..

They cover all the service plan stuff in the stores i wont give you that mumbo jumbo..

But for 123.97 for a new radio installed, is a great price..

Just make sure the new CD player is MP3 CD compatible
