I have a stock AM FM CD Cassette plyer in my 2004 4 Runner. The cassette player has been making a clicking noise when I play a tape which I hardly ever do. Now the CD player quit. I was listening to a CD the other day and it started to cut in and out then it just quit. I put a CD in and it flashes "LOADING" for about 30 seconds and then spits the CD out. I bought a CD cleaner to put in it and it will not load either. Any ideas? I don't want to change the head out if I don't have to.

My CD quit working on my 2004 about 6 months ago. It just stopped working in a middle of a song. When I put the CD in it will say "loading" and then pop out after 20 seconds. I also noticed the CD does not even turn, when it pops out, it is in the same location. You may want to check to see if yours does that too.
So, what have I done, well, I listen to the radio. I would like a new CD player, maybe this Christmas. If you figure out what is wrong and how it can be fixed let me know.
One thing I have found out is that the remote controls on my steering wheel may be a prolbem when I buy a new raido. Also, a double deck radio is a bit harder to buy.
Sorry for the bad news, I guess that CD player must have some problems.
