Ceiling Scratches...

So my friend had the bright idea to but his BMX bike in the back of my truck the other day, as I have no rack atm, and there are A LOT of scratches on the ceiling (cloth, so I'm not sure what to call them other than "scratches"). I cannot for the life of me get them out. I've tried vaccuming and brushing ( weird idea, I know). The only thing I haven't tried is steam cleaning, and I feel that's what would get them out. Before I go and pay for a steam cleaner, though, could anyone give me some opinions or ideas on what I should do to get rid of them?

PS: Sorry on no pics, my truck's in the shop atm. The bolt started causing problems.

I got rid of mine by not looking up anymore lol... a 5' wooden porch swing just barely fits haha. not sure what you could do other than recover the head liner with fresh cloth.

I found a solution in:

1) clean the surface with a nice clean cloth (mildly)

2) get a vacuum and attach the long bristle brush then get the brushing

3) you may have to do this a few times but all of the cat scratches I had up there are blended in now. :

I feel like that's just adding more scratches into the mix,

How would you think that a wet cloth and the soft bristles of a vacuum brush would add more scratches? Why ask for advice and then shoot down the best advice you get? So confused.

I used a cat hair brush. I carefully pulled it along the entire length of the ceiling nice and easy. I don't know how deep yours are but mine came out. Sorry no pics.

I didn't shoot it down. I'm just saying, that at least in my case, the brush on my vacuum isn't that soft. And it's not a bad vacuum. I may need to invest in a new one, but mine's quite stiff (don't even say it...) Also, as I said, I've tried vacuuming it out, which didn't work.

A cat hair brush? Interesting... I'll give that a try and get back to you on that.
