Center Console replacement

So I just bought an 89 4runner the other day and I want to replace the back seat heater unit with a locking center console so I can keep the top off and still leave stuff in my truck. Today, I ripped out the heater unit and plugged the two hoses at the ends where they connected to the heater. I lost a good amount of coolant in the removal. Do i need to fix this further or will plugging the hoses be sufficient? And where can i find a locking center console that will fit?
