Center Console swap (cupholder mod)

I want to do the cup holder center console swap. Can I just swap out the black center section or do I need the entire arm rest section too?

Can't just swap the black section out. You've got to swap the entire Center console piece. Been on the lookout for a 99+ center console for months now and now luck yet...
