Center Diff. 2wd

I have a 2wd 2004 4runner and i want to lock the center diff but there is no button on the left besides the trac Off. any ideas?

You don't have a center diff since you have a 2wd truck.

Center diffs distribute power to the front and rear axles.

You can install a rear locker but it would probably be better just to buy a 4wd truck.

Step one: Install transfer case.

Step two: Install locking differential on transfer case.

Step three: Put "center diff lock" button in dashboard, wired to center differential on transfer case.

Step four: Push button to lock center diff.

That's how you do it. It won't do any good though unless you also install a front differential and CV shafts and 4WD suspension bits, and you'll probably want a driveshaft between the new front differential and the new transfer case. ;)
 
Yup. It's just that easy. KidV wouldn't steer u wrong. Although the front driveshaft isn't necessary. You can use the rear driveshaft. Good luck and post pics!
