Another great trip in the works, gang! We ran this one last May, and it was incredible.
One of CO’s signature trips, this one will allow you to experience almost every form of terrain the Ouachita Mountains have to offer. That’s right: we’ll be traversing the entire range from west to east! (There’s always something special about border crossings -- even if they don’t require a passport!)

REQUIRED FOR EVERY TRIP
•Front and rear vehicle recovery points, high strength
•Rugged clothing, appropriate to duration and weather conditions
•Camping gear: for cooking, sleeping, and relaxing
•Food: high-calorie, non-perishable items are best
•Water: one gallon per person, per day, is mandatory
•Maps: digital or paper in road or topo, for region of trip
•Spare key, hidden outside of vehicle
•Portable light source w/ batteries
•Emergency contact, family or friend
•Basic first aid kit
•Cash
RECOMMENDED FOR EVERY TRIP
•Jack
•Tarp
•Shovel
•Jumper cables
•Drivetrain fluids
•Recovery strap
•CB or 2/70 HAM radio
•Tool kit, appropriate to vehicle
•Spare parts, appropriate to vehicle
•LT-rated tires, or higher
•Full-sized spare tire

A full-disclaimer note: much of this trail passes through tightly-woodly areas, and might add a few minor backcountry pinstripes to your ride. Anything bigger than an 80-Series will really be squeezing, at times, and anyone who stresses about keeping a showroom shine on their rig will probably spend half the weekend growing gray hairs. But I don't want that alone to discourage anyone; after all, those stripes prove you've been somewhere! The place is gorgeous and the terrain enjoyably challenging. Plus, you'll get to tell all your friends that you've run the entire east-west spine of the Ouachita Mountains, tip-to-stern.
Wes Craiglow and Ryan Bidinger will be the official guides on this trip. They are both highly skilled and well prepared Overland travelers... you will be in good hands. I will try to meet the group somewhere along the way and travel the last leg of the journey with the group.
