Meet up is 1010 West Market Street in Harrisonburg at the Shell Station. The time is 1045-1100 with roll out as close to 1100 as possible (We end up leaving around 1115 after everyone who has fueled up who needs to and bathroom runs are made)

We are bringing camping gear, cooler and food, etc. Should we bring a stove?

Do we plan on eating at top? And any recommendations for camping spots that night for hiking the next day? Guess we can discuss in person as well.

So here is how it goes usually, We roll out, get to the trail head and air down, we have our fun making a couple stops along the way. Once we reach the top we usually break off and those that will camp then go off on their own and setup shop. The rest head off the mountain a shorter way down and Air up once we hit pavement (If they airdown super low and cant drive back to a sheetz in Harrisonburg (Free Air)) Usually by the time we get to the top of Flagpole it is anywhere from 3-5 p.m. If you have recovery gear it is advised to bring it as a just in case for anyone who may need it. I have a couple soft shackles, a tow strap and a snatch strap.

There are quite a few camping spots all along the trail we can show you as we go along it is easier to show than to describe. The first 2 times I did this run I personally packed a cooler and had the basic necessities, The last few times, I travel light and will grab food at the Sheetz since I don't plan on camping overnight.

Since this is a long trip for me (~5.5 hours) are there nearby options for camping in the area Friday night? Most likely I'll just get up early Saturday and make the drive down but I'd like to know my options.

Also, this is the progress of the Staun tire deflators I ordered for this outing. I've been offroading locally at 40 PSI and it's been hard on the ol' spine. These will be nice to finally have.

Ill offer to you as I have in the past to others. You can come to my house for the evening friday night. I offer it up usually I know a few have taken me up in the past. I live an hour from Harrisonburg.

You dont need those! I have a core puller and all the cores we could need lol. (I have not lost a core to date) 40 PSI is rough you will definitely want to air down saturday.

You could camp just outside of PMR if you wanted (Peters Mill Run) at Creekside Campground. You could Also camp at Union Springs Lake or even Switzer Lake. The last 2 options will put you right near the trail head and on the trail head (We go up union springsz trail)

It was an absolutely incredible time! Thanks so much to Greg for organizing and helping make my first time on this trail a memorable one...and for staying calm while spotting me getting used to manual off-roading over obstacles...DEFINITELY adds a whole other element, but I wouldn't have it any other way. So fun.
