Have a 2004 V8 4x4 Limited. Bought just over a year ago and it was certiified. When I had the timing belt changed they covered the water pump and a couple of cv boots under the warranty. Well, the certified powertrain warranty expires late this month. Next weekend I'm doing a brake job on all four wheels and will have it up on a lift at my buddies house. (yes, my buddy has a lift in his garage. It's pretty sweet)
So sure, while it's up I am going to inspect the drive train for grease or oil leaks. I have also tested the 4lo and center diff lock. It readily goes into L4 and back to H4, but the center diff lock sometimes takes a few seconds to engage and sometimes multiple efforts to disengage. Seems like this may be an issue and an expensive repair so I'll point it out.
Any other thoughts on what to look for? I have already spoken to my local dealer about bringing it in for one last once over while it's still under warranty and they are cool with it. I just want to create my own pick list of potential repairs to get fixed for free while I still can.
