Well drove to work just fine today after filling up with midgrade gas ive been running premium in it the past few weeks. I figured id switch it up today after thinking i fixed my previous hesitation/surging issue by replacing my a/f sensor. Its been fine for like 2 weeks and i also got a code of p0420 shortly after replacing the sensor. I figured it could possibly be the rear o2. However noticed today when I cranked up the car and drove home the exhaust was considerably more loud and almost had a slight fart noise too it. Im thinking its a bad cat but thought id post here to get insight. Thanks.

Sounds like a bad cat. When mine went bad it first rattled like crazy then started sounding like an old dump truck (and smelled like one too).
