Change tire size?

Im a newbie here but unlike most of you all I do is drive my 4Runner. (3rd one)

Question: My 05 SR5 calls for 265/65 17s. Expensive tire.
What is the harm in running 245/65 17s?

here ya go, why do you want to go smaller? Our spedos are already off by bout 3 and now you will be off by about 5.

Cost only. I can save $150 on 4 tires at the smaller size. Nice chart. Don't know what it means but nice chart. LOL

So the smaller size basically puts less rubber on the road, right?

Speedo? Speedometer? Off which way?

Ridefast is referring to how fast your speedometer is showing in comparison to your actual speed your doing.

Now if you get some 245/70/17 m/t, if I remember right from what I used to have, you'll be a 1/8" smaller in height. May not be cheaper though.

u should be able to get a sweet set of yokohama geolanders for $175 ea + install. Thats not to bad for under $800. Buy the right size or go up to a 70 series, you will regret it every time you get into and out of your truck.
