Changed out Exhaust - Great Combo

Have had several Cat-Backs on my 4Runners and always felt something was missing. TRD Cat-back-Loud and droned, Borla Cat-Back Nice-but left with OEM Y-Pipe so just increase in volume. URD 3" MK1 Cat-Back - Did notice some butt dyno increase-just loud and installed Vibrant resonator to tone down

Changed out to this combo this weekend and very happy with outcome.: URD Y-Pipe and Borla Touring Cat. The URD Y-Pipe fit perfectly. The Borla install fit to the Y-Pike without issue. Put a 1 1/2" wedge into the rear Hanger and this dropped the Borla Exhaust tip 1/2" off the bumper. Started up and no CEL's and off the driving. Just the right tone and feel the difference with increased flow from the Y-Pipe. Definitely pulls better standard around the town driving. 100 miles of mixed driving and seeing improved MPG----will see once I fill up

I just had the Borla touring installed last Thursday. Love the sound of it, no drone on freeway or cruising around town. Been thinking about adding the URD Y-Pipe, looking forward to hearing your opinion/driving experience on adding this to the Borla.

I have my Borla Touring as well, and have been debating on the Y-Pipe as well. Would love to hear a sound clip of the combination

I love my Y-Pipe from the moment I got it. I wouldn't hesitate. I think/assume it might pass smog since the secondary cats are for the initial start-up (something i've read on here).
Someone on Tacomaworld does make an equal length Y-pipe but it's about $1K.

I have the Borla S Type on order but its been backlogged since March. I ordered mine thru Battleborn and supposedly Jake said it should ship from Borla this week.

I saw on instagram a Fujitsubo exhaust for the 4Runner and it sounded real nice. unfortunately i cant find that post again and when i did a search online i didnt find anything for that exhaust.

once the cat-back from borla comes eventually ill try to post a soundclip of it paired to the urd y-pipe.

***funny i just received shipping confirmation from UPS. I should be getting it tomorrow.

Really been looking at that Y pipe with the Borla s-type low-pro exhaust. But I have dogs that ride in the back and if my ears dont like a drone, I know they'll hate it.

Get the touring, there's little to no drone at all. My fiancee' didn't even notice that I changed the exhaust and hasn't said a word

I've had a lot of happy customers with the Gibson system on the 5th gen for those who are still looking around.

Dude. You have your own threads to promote your products. I wanna hear more about this URD/Borla combo!

I sell the BORLA also. I own a 4Runner myself and get calls all the time from people that don't know what all the options are for these trucks. If you want the Borla, I have 3 in stock. I'm here to help and am addicted to 4Runners not the money.

Thanks. I'm actually deciding right now between the Gibson and the Borla. Making decision tonight. 4th and 5th gen now.

I've owned 3 GM trucks with Gibson Free Flow Cat-back exhaust systems. Loved the mellow sound of all 3 Gibson systems.

The used Chevy truck that I bought with a MagnaFlow dual exhaust system on it had a loud drone that I didn't like. The back end of MagnaFlow's alleged "stainless steel" mufflers were completely rusted out.

Ended up and went with the Gibson from Bman. I liked the side dual choice and the fact that I can drive with the rear window down and not get fumes inside. My dogs love when that windows down too.

I'm excited! Yea the magnaflow is too loud I think. I wanted a mellow tone and not loud so can't wait to get this installed.
