Changes For 2011 TE

A while back someone posted a link to an article outlining the differences in the 2011 models. There really weren't any significant changes other than Toyota dropping the four cylinder motor from the 4runner.

Yea, I was a slide out cargo tray hater too... Until I started using it. Its actually pretty cool.

But, its nice to know that its easy to remove for a lower/flat cargo floor.

The SR5 models without the 3rd row seat appear to have a plastic piece that is the width of the cargo floor. It helps smooth the transition from the backs of the folded seats to the cargo tray-less floor.

I haven't looked into it, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive to add if the small height difference is a concern after the tray is removed.

On another note... I'm happy with the V6, but I'll be a little upset if multi-mode 4WD returns in the next couple of years (because I won't have it).

The current full-time 4WD setup in the Limited is nice, but it still doesn't allow 4Lo with the center diff unlocked. I used that all the time parking a trailer.

I'm still getting the 2010 model when I go to the builder on Toyota's website, even when I use his zipcode. :)

I only get the 2010 build site too. Even when using the screenshots zip code. Notice the Blizzard Pearl color option with the TE. Wouldn't that be nice!

Now that I have come out as a photochopper, let me say this... I would have chosen a WHITE Trail Edition had there been one. I'm not so much teasing as wistful for what could have been.

Sorry guys....All-new in 2010, the 4Runner carries over virtually unchanged for 2011 model year.

As always I will post all info about the new model year here. I expect to update it as more info becomes available.

After reading the first sentence of the 2011 history from your link:

The all-new fifth-generation Toyota 4Runner, introduced for model year 2010, gains minor option revisions for 2011.

I figured out why the Limited's price went down slightly for 2011. This might be old news to some, but the slide-out cargo tray is now optional ($350) on the Limited (was standard on the 2010). So now it makes sense -- a slight price increase minus the now-optional cargo tray results in a ~$100 or so price decrease.

Here is my 2011, pics are taken with the iPhone and resized so the quality isn't that great. But maybe it'll satisfy the curiosity. Overall, not much different from the 2010 brochure.
