Changing steering wheel

I wanted to change my steering wheel because I hate my stock one, it is ugly as sin. I found a cheap wheel that looks really nice on e-bay for 50 bucks so I decided to go for it. So now I need an adaptor to put it on. It says I need an adaptor which will fit a 6 x 2 6/8 bolt pattern but I presume I also need the other side which would fit my truck.

Does anyone know where I could be looking for this item. Most of the sites I have looked at only list "racing" cars and I haven't had much luck looking for a 4 runner adaptor.

I've done some looking, but no dice. I would think to check Summit Racing for a Grant adaptor. I have not pulled mine apart, so I don't have much to go on for knowing what adaptor to look for. You may be able to get one made at a local machine shop? Then you can have somehting cool and different too!

Hmm...That's a good idea. I'd rather have something different anyway. I have already modified the steering wheel.. I took off the logo which was on the horn button and I will put a Toyota logo there.

I like talking to the people in this forum better than all those 5th gens. They are obsessed with putting everything back exactly like it was. Not willing to take any risks or change anything!

Not to rag them, but I do understand! I like the modification approach myself!

What brand did you go with? I am ready to replace mine also. So far I only found one I like is and it's an APC. I really need some more knee room also. Can't decide on the "D" shape or the 1" smaller round one though.

I don't have cruise anyway.

Mine looks like that except the center is aluminum and it goes about half way out onto the spokes.

I really didn't like the D-shaped ones. I have to have everything really symetrical. When I make a sandwich, I take the two pieces of bread and open them like a book, put my stuff on and then fold them bread back so everything is even and aligned. So I guess you can understand why I don't like the D-shaped ones.

Hmm... Does the steering have 3 bolts on it now?

I wonder what the difference is between the one for $50 and the 1 for $6! They batoh look the same and have the same description.

Probably material or one is some sort of kit? I didn't look too closely as I am not really sure what you need to make your setup work right.

It looks like the $50 one is a kit of some sort? The SKU# says "horn button" where the others don't.
(SKU's signify the part number and usually an application as well. Each company does theirs a little differently, but you can usually tell some differance by that.)

I am really wondering what the diff is between the 6 and 4 dollar parts? They are billet, but billet what: Aluminum, stainless, unobtanium? Probaly worth a call or email to their sales staff.
Tel: 800-892-8789 (from their web site).
