The ac compressor is making a chattering sound when the ac compressor is disengaged but runs smoothly when activated. I'm assuming the clutch is breaking down but i find it strange that the compressor still works perfectly when activated. Is this a normal? I don't know if this is the original compressor, since the vehicle was purchased with 170,000 miles and now has 211,000 on the odometer. I thank you all for any advise.
