CHEAP EXHAUST MOD:My recipe for Magnaflow setup on my V8

Figured i'd share my recipe for a cheap Magnaflow setup on my V8

Flowmaster is $600ish
Borla is $975ish
Magnaflow is $700ish
Gshadow325 setup is $100ish LoL <----------ding ding ding winner :director:

i had a magnaflow 13741 muffler and 35176 muffler tip in the shop that was special ordered for a SD ford. Paid in full and never picked up for over 1 year. His loss my gain!

This is a 3" in and out 30" in length 36" overall. you dont need this, your muffler place will not like you. its borderline too big. mine was free so i made it work

a 13745 or 13744 would fit better and is $75 from summit racing, muffler shop will like you more

So just cut out the factory muffler and welded this one in its place. cut off the oem resonator and make a pipe and welded in the muffler tip. Tip was as expensive as the muffler $75.

if you choose a cheaper $20 tip, you could replicate this for less than $100 plus labor.

No sound clips yet, i'll make some later today. I just finished fixing both exhaust manifolds by replacing them with two pacesetters. the only sound clips i have, have the ticking from leaking manifolds and my kids are screaming in the background when we went offroading last weekend

Muffler $75 (free )
Tip $74 (free) but a $20 will do
Labor $75 including hangers.

Realistic cost $175 give or take installed

I wouldn't be a fan of the welding of the brackets. You can expect the welds to rust and fail prematurely. They should have looped the hangers all the way around so that when the welds break your muffler isn't dragging the ground.

welds break because they were not welded properly in the first place.

Side note: i have been using this same person for the last 20 years. back when me and my friends were fast and furious before there was fast and furious in the 90's. One of my friends still has is 91 NSX when he did it back in 94 still didnt fall off yet LoL

Ok here it is from the driver's seat. i kinda tried to narrate thru the video of what i was doing. again click on the picture and it will open up a new window with the video. BTW- this after i just did the passenger side pacesetter manifold 3 days ago. before there was a ticking/pffffsssss noise when i floored it. you can see it from the exhaust manifold where it was leaking.
