Just wanted to make my 4Runner a little different. Also, wanted it to match the lower grill. Besides I plan on getting the Aura grill at some point.

Funny thing seeing this as I was thinking of doing the same! I wondered what it would look on my truck as I have a black safari bar up front.

I think it would look pretty cool. I like having black accessories and accents. Next I'm going to paint my emblems black pearl. But I also think I might repaint the grill in a flat black.

So what kind of paint and procedures did you use? Do you have any better pics? I think the sun is causing the black to look darker than it really is...

All I used was a gloss black vehicle paint that I had left over from my old 4Runner. I removed the grill. There are 8 acorn nuts that hold on the grill and 2 small bolts that hold on the latch. I cleaned and scuffed the grill then shot it with the black. Did 2 coats let it dry then reinstalled it. That simple.
