Cheap place to get a used/remanned engine?

So, short version, like 2 ribs of my serpantine belt ripped off, got wrapped in the crank, broke the crank oil seal and all my oil leaked out. Didn't throw any codes or low oil lights or anything. Right when I heard the belt slapping around I pulled over and had it towed to the dealer. Sure enough they put some oil in it started it up and knocking and blowing smoke. (Wife drives it daily).

I'm pretty handy and with a couple buddies I feel I could do the swap. Just curious is you guys have any suggestions on where to get a good deal on either a used motor or a remanned motor. Preferably with some kind of warranty. Let me know what you guys think. Oh and I just signed an offer for my first house today. Talk about bad timing for the engine on my truck to blow up...

Bump... nobody knows where to get a quality motor?

Message the_josh. His thread is one of the stickies on this forum. If my memory serves me correctly he bought a used motor but it was a year off and some camshaft harnesses were different so he got another used motor with the same year and everything is fine.

Message him and he can give you more info on where to get a good quality motor. Make sure you get the same year.
