I would rather not pay $500 for sliders. Are there any good bolt on sliders that will not break the bank???? Weld on is fine but I would rather have bolt on so I can sell them when I sell my runner. :laser: Jeeps

I think you'll find that on the whole, bolt ons are usually higher cost because they involve a bit more work to fab up. All the bolt ons I've seen are like $450 (metaltech) and up.
Your best bet if you're looking for the cheapest option is to get weld on sliders and then just sell them with the truck or if you really want to sell separate, cut them off at the mounting plates then sell them to someone who can weld new plates/supports on.

There is also Whiteknuckle offroad a few people on here run them, Njshadow i know for sure. They make awesome sliders, That's the option i would of went if i went with bolt ons. $460 bare steel or $560 powder coated

That's what I'm running too. But they're def. not the cheapest bolt on option. That being said, they're very nice quality and I'd highly recommend!
Shrockworks may be the cheapest bolt on if you get in on a groupbuy. [MENTION=55855]zopperman[/MENTION] is running those along with a good many others. Majority of folks are running weld ons though.

They do come bare and unassembled, so you'll spend time getting that all together, but totally worth the cost in savings.
A couple others have them on here as well. [MENTION=65653]aha2988[/MENTION] is one to mention. So check out his thread as well. If I remember right, he's got the kick outs.
Cool with me, will put truck liner on them. I want the kickouts too.

definitely recommend these and I have certainly put them through there paces lol. truck liner isnt a bad choice but be warned.. getting in the vehicle wearing pants is easy but slide in or out of that driver seat wearing shorts, and let the inside of your calf slide across that truck bed liner and you'll wish you had just used regular paint lol.

Welding?
How'd all the extra work go? Did you or a friend handle the welding or did you take it to a shop? How much would it cost, roughly, to have someone weld these suckers on?
Great deal.... looks like a solid product. I'm not some rock crawler.... I'm really more of a dirt and gravel off-roader with occasional encounters with tight spots (i.e. trees)... so, I think this fits me great!
Don't need $500-800 sliders when I'm not running up rocky trails in the Moab or somewhere else.

I did get a training course on welding, but I'd have to say my work didn't look so well

For what it's worth I was able to weld them on myself using jack stands floor jacks and a wooden block here and there. It's only tricky getting the top of the weld joints lol my build shows the steps I took welding them on so if you've got a friend with a welder you can probably knock it out

I would recommend getting bolt on - having the ability to remove them is crucial (I think), God forbid you ever do sell the truck, thats a few hundred bucks you can get back or keep for the next. I'm personally just not a ran of more permanent modifications.
I paid around 500 for my Shrockworks sliders. They are very good quality, the fit was messed up a little in shipping, but easily straightened out and they look very good (IMO). The only thing I don't love is that the front rail ends in a square, not a ramp so you could potentially get hung up on it, but it would have to be a perfectly timed/shaped obstacle.
Overall, they are VERY strong and I prefer the mounting design over that of any other company I have seen. They hug the body lines about as well as a good slider can. Install in a pain, but whatever.

4XInnovations is still the way to go IMO. Offset the cost of others with some sweat equity.
Worth considering the fact that sliders are protection for your truck. Cheaper sliders will use inferior material (ERW vs. DOM, thinner walls, etc.) that's more likely to fail or buckle under use. By definition, sliders are load-bearing parts of the frame that protect the body, and if they buckle, your body is ****ed.

To those who have bolt-on sliders... can you measure the clearance between the slider and your door when the door is open? With weld on sliders you can position the slider up close to the door to maximize ground clearance. I'm curious where the bolt on sliders are positioned.
