cheapest & safest way to lift

Considering the cheapest way to lift my truck, (1.for the look 2.after installing wheel spacers on a 265/75/16 it caused some rubbing) I've been looking at this kit http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/96024rundstrlift.htm the $230 kit "is that a front and rear lift ? in the pic i only see two spacers?!". if you recommend another set please give me the link.

What are the cons and what else do i need to do? I hear about differential drop, do i have to do that and what else do i need to do after installing the kit?

I recommend a lift that uses springs all around. The spacers wear out your springs faster and kill your ride quick. Depending on how much lift you want check out toyteclifts.com or if you just want to clear the 265/75's on the cheap the Performance products 1"lift coils will give you about 2" of lift and are 200 for the set. And to answer your question that lift you posted includes rear springs and front spacers.

this is what i did (3 inch lift)

first i bought this:

so to sum up everything i have new coils and shocks for the rear but for the front i have the spacers that the kit came with. later on i will buy front coil overs when i get more money but as of now i have the spacers on that came with the kit (for the front). oh and toytec has good customer service if u wanted to know

those looks like the right ones. I haven't bought them myself, But I looked at the really hard before I bought what I have. I do a little more off-raoding so I wanted something that suited me a little better. Looks like the price has gone up from when I was looking. i would check around though you might be able to score them a little cheaper. I Toytec is good as well but most of there lifts are 2.5-3" and sounds like you just want a nice stance and something practical for everyday use. I think the pp springs would suite you best and if you need shocks the tokico trekmasters can be had for 2-300 and carry a lifetime warranty. I run them and Love them.

I am on a tight budget and there isn't even an unpaved road here in chicago i dont tow anything either so why pay 300 to 600+ for a 1'' to 2'' lift?

Don't get us wrong, there's nothing wrong with spacers. It's just that They will wear your springs out faster. If your rear springs are sagging they will also help to temporarily cure this. Once you start to put and reasonable wieght into the back of it again its just gonna sag again. I would strongly recommend you wait and spend the little extra cash to do it right than to do it and regret not doing it better in a few months or a year.

Yes you would only need one of the performance products kits. It'll come with all 2 springs. They will infact give you 2" of lift based on many threads I've read and from what others have posted. The 01-02 4runners are the lowest riding years and the kit is based on giving 1" to a '99 4runner which is the highest year. You should def. see a 2" lift. At very min. 1.5". The second kit comes with rear springs but front spacers. But as I've mentioned most ppl complain about the ride quality of a spacer lift. As far as spacers go Daystar is one of the top ones.

Yes you could use your stock struts if you want. At that mileage they might need replacing anyhow though. You would know best. Of if you just want to save some dough you could leave it until later. With the PP Springs you shouldn't need a diff drop. The other kit shouldn't need them either. If you do decide to change shocks I would recommend the tokico trekmasters, lifetime warranty and about 200-250 a set of 4. e-bay and most suppliers have about the same pricing.
