Hello guys. I have a limited 2000 V6. 112 k. Good car.Never problems. Maintained very well. Sudenly check engine light pops on while i was acelerating uphill with all family in the car. Not a very stipp hill- just hiway byt was very godd 3000 rpm. I tryed (unless there is another way) to wire TE1-E1 and no readings. the problem i have had so far has been a ruttling noise from underneath... seems like Catalitick converter but Im not sure. I went underneath 10-15 times and nothing is lose or makes noise at least when car is in park. Any idea what that may be or any shortcut how to get the code reader? Im in canada- AB so no Autozone here as I have read to land me a scanner. Am i doing anything wrong with wire to TE1-E1?? Any input apriciated. thx, alan

Find a parts store or dealer to read codes for you or pull out the wallet and buy one. You need to know what code is being thrown to know where to begin looking. I finally just bought a scanner so i dont have to schlepp up to the store everytime i get a cel in one of my vehicles. I got one that can also clear the codes and reads live data as well. $100 well spent i believe.

Crappy Tire (Canadian Tire) might do it, but I'm not sure.

Try that and see if they will, I'm in the U.S but watch someone on YouTube who is from Canada and that's how I know about CT.

Right on-Crappy tire- for sure they will tell me i need wheel aligment or rear wheel bearing.

First step - make sure gas cap is tightened down good.....if that is the issue, CEL will go off after a while....

Also - if you disconnect the battery (i.e. disconnect the negative (ground) cable) - it will immediately reset the CEL. You can see then it if comes back on.
