Check engine light after fuel injectors cleaned at Midas

I have a 98 4runner that has been flawless since purchased new in 98. The truck was recently serviced for an oil change at Midas with a fuel injector cleaning included.
Right after the service the check engine light came on and I brought it back to Midas. This was the first time that light ever came on since purchase.
Midas told me they are getting error code P0445 which they said was unrelated to the fuel injector cleaning and they were not responsible. I checked the code online and it shows as EVAP control circuit fault which was related to the fuel EVAP cannister and other components dealing with the fuel system.
Midas acknowledged this but said that was totally unrelated to anything they did and their work would not have caused that.

I am not mechanic but it seems coincidental that the light came on 8 hours after they did service on the injectors and that something they did resulted in this problem, which they totally deny.

Can someone shed some light on this and if Midas should correct this or if this truly is unrelated to the injector cleaning. They are refusing to take any responsibility and all they would do was give me the code and would not do any further work. I have read so many complaints and problems with Midas on the net that I regret ever going there.

If I need an EVAP cannister does anyone know what that would cost to have done as well?
Any help or advice is appreciated and my best to everyone!

First mistake was to take it to Midas... Now you know..
Did they forget to tighten the gas cap after they poured that crap into your fuel system?

Just reset it by pulling those fuses and then see if it comes back on, maybe it could be wrong?

^ yes reset it, sometime a loose gas cap can cause that.

A charcoal canister is expensive, and is not likely to be the problem. Most likely if they put anything in your fuel they spilled some around the filler pipe, or didn't put the cap on tightly as the other guys are saying, or it pressurized in the tank differently.

I've had a long relationship with evap codes, and the only "sure fix" would be installing an entire new system, which would do practically nothing for the truck's performance. I have a cheap code reader to delete the codes when they go on every week or two in the summer.

Me and my friends run e85 on our Mitsubishis and it builds up "black goop" on the injector tips so we would have to clean our injectors every 10000 miles. I just hooked up a fuel rail, some line, an extra fuel pump and connect it directly to a car battery and would run solvent through the injectors to clean them. A lot cheaper than having them professionaly cleaned and you dont have to add any crappy cleaner to your fuel system.

If they actually pulled the injectors to clean them (which is unlikely) they probably pulled a connector loose somewhere. I'd find the evap cannister and make sure all the connections are tight, the reset the ECM and try again.
