Check Engine Light: code 71

i have a 94 v6 and I've had a CE light on for some time but it took me untill today to realize I can diagnose the code with a staple, haha. Anyways, its a code 71 - some sort of EGR problem. I can't really find a clear way of addressing this correctly so what should I do?

if you hav not been answered... 1st. check vaccuum lines...2nd. (if equipped) check egr temp. sensor....3rd. replace worn or faulty parts as needed.
