1995 4Runner V6 3.0
Just had the engine rebuilt at 151,000 miles. The issue is that the engine runs like a beast for the first 15 minutes or so. Then when the check engine light kicks on, the power decreases dramatically (hills that I could normally drive 75 over, I am now doing 55 over). The computer says that issue could be an engine knock, but there isn't one. So my question is: can the check engine light have an effect on how the vehicle runs? If so, should I just disconnect the wires?
Feel free to ask for more information if you need it.
Thanks, Eric
