check engine light on Code p0355 and vsc traction light on

Hi Buddies,
My 2006 Toyota 4Runner v8, check engine light and vdc traction lights went on. I went to Autozone and they did OBDII check. The Trouble Code was showing P0355 Ignition Coil "E" Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction. The engine is shaking under idle speed and idle speed is low. I haven't move the truck during last two weeks, and there was heavy snow and low temp. Can anybody help?

Basically one of the Coil on Plug units is bad, I would assume "E" means cylinder 5, so if want you can swap that coil with another one, reset the DTCs and see if the code changes to the corresponding cylinder, thus proving it is indeed the coil pack.

Thanks. I just checked, the connector of ignition coil caused the problem.

P0330 code diatonic information

My 2006 4Runner Sport with the 4.0 engine had the check Engine Light (CEL) come on at highway speeds today along with the traction lights. I assumed the worst and stopped at a Toyota Dealership to have to codes read. They found multiple codes which included, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306 and the all important P0355. Toyota said that something was very wrong and I needed to leave it until next week, I declined and took my 4runner home and researched the codes. On the way, I noticed the idle was lumpy and the ride was less than smooth. I looked at the code descriptions and determined that PO355 stood out as a cylinder 5 coil malfunction, so I looked at that coil and found the connector was only half on, so I snapped it into proper position and started the engine which ran smoothly. I disconnected the negative battery lead then re connected it and all the CEL were gone!! The engine runs perfect.
I had the spark plugs replaced a month before at a professional shop and they didn't reconnect the coil lead correctly. In the future I will perform all regular maintenance items,,,,

I have 2005 Sport Ed. and had the same lights came on CEL and traction lights one morning. I noticed the startup wasn't smooth and idling was rough. Took it to a local shop that i trust and had it diagnosed. Reader indicated coil ignition issue. The mechanic found that a screw to the connector coil ignition was loose. He tightened it and reset the CEL and VSC lights. Haven't come on eversince.
