a couple of weeks ago my check engine lite came on again after almost a year of not being on(after switching to 91 octane gas). Could this lite be on as a result of the "summer blend" gas now being offered at the pumps??

There's 20-30 different reasons why the CEL can come on. Go to your local auto parts store and ask them to read the OBII scan code, then post that up for advice.

Your CEL has nothing to do with the fuel you're using. Use 87. It's cheaper, and it's what your engine is designed to use.

Then have your truck scanned to see what codes are stored. Then look up the code(s) online to start the process of narrowing it down.
