Great work. Do you have any photos with speakers in place, but before putting back on the door panels?

Did you have the JBL speaker system before install?

I do not have any photos of the speakers installed with the door panel off. However, I am planning on installing some sound deadener soon and will update the site then. I did have the JBL system. It was ok but not loud enough or enough bass for me.

What did you do with the "center" dash speaker if anything?
 
Very nice...first time I've seen that type of sub install. I also really like that headunit look...I was thinking about the 9815....but I think the silver is a nice match.

What color are the blue buttons at night? I was hoping to find an amber setup on an Alpine unit....kind of like the old Alpines that you could switch between the two colors. If not amber, what color and how does it look at night all lit up with the dash/trip comp readout etc ?

were you able to still use the controls in the steering wheel or will you have to add something to retain those features?
 
You can buy an adapter to make the steering wheel controls work but it costs like $60 and I didn't think it was worth it. I like the blue lights on the Alpine. They are a bit bright if you don't adjust it a little. Thjere is a feature on the HU that allows you to do this.
 
I take it you don't have the double decker option. That adds a bit of complications to the rear area of the install. I'm trying to figure out a way to install my Basslink.
 
is that the metra kit for the 03 models you used? i know they don't have a kit for the 04's yet, as they have a slightly larger din opening. i talked to tech support at metra this week about it. it looks from your pics that you have a slight gap on both sides.
