Check that all the lights on your dash are working!

I had an issue with my 4wd indicator light (the green one) not working on my dash. I pulled the dash to find out the bulb was good and it light when I jumped the front differential indicator switch. I checked the other bulbs to find out there was NO bulb in the check engine light socket! It is a very important light! I picked up some bulbs and replaced it. It now lights with the others when the ignition key is switched to accessory and goes off with the others once the engine is started. I bought the truck used and don't know what happened to the bulb. I can only assume that a mechanic or the previous owner removed it. I don't have any problem with it going on and diagnosis shows no codes. It's a mistery. I would check to see that you have all of your lights. It is easy to pull out and check.

Now that I think more about it I should have started this in Maintanence. No discussion needed just a heads up. It is very important you have your warning lights to prevent causing permanent damage to your vehicle.

Is that easy to do? I did the AC light a year ago but not the dash.
