Check the rear bearings before this happens.

Remove the brake drums and hold the 6 and 12'O clock wheel studs. it should NOT move directly UP and DOWN.

Also you can check the wheel bearings when the tire is on the ground. release the park brake and hold 12'O clock position on the tire and force it in and out. If you feel a slight movement to your hands, then the bearings are shot.

It landed on the bottom shock-absorber mount.

This truck (4X4) is for sale because of this issue. Guess what I am going to do!!!

Wow they must have been loose as heck! Mine has no play when on the truck, but when I have the axle shaft out, I can feel a little play in them. I'm getting an e-locker axle soon, so I'll make sure to check them really good.

Hehe, yeah, I thought it was your truck. Absolutely could be a great opportunity to get it at a discount. I've gotten some great deals for vehicles with a problem the owner just doesn't want to deal with. Easy peasy fix, unless there is a lot of tire body damage, but doesn't look too bad. It's too bad the green ones always lose their clear coat! I almost bought a few of them to fix up until I saw how bad the paint was. That green color just doesn't hold up, neither does the red.
