Chevy Tahoe with 4Runner Alloys??

Saw a commercial on TV for the 2007 Chevy Tahoe tonight.
Funny how the alloy wheels on the Tahoe in the commercial seemed to look a lot like the 17" alloys on my 4Runner.

How many of these GM full size vehicles are they gonna pump out of the factories before they realize noone is buying them, just where I live the parking lots or storage lots that house these things, their has to be several 1000's, you name it they have it and they got MY all the way from 03 to 06: cars to

True, they were similar. I was not paying too much attention to the commercial. After all, it was for a Tahoe....

The Chevy Tahoe is a good vehicle! Some of you can "PoP" talk negatives about american made SUV's; but this one has been a good product. It has some of the most satisfied customers in the industry. It is a very functional vehicle with a good resale value when compared to other american models.

I know many here are pro Toyota when it comes to quality, durability, and satisfaction but there are some american models that can hold their own when compared. The Tahoe is a good example.......it looks better, sells more in volume, and tows more boats (etc) down American highways than the Toyota Sequoia. The last fact you can take to the bank!

I'll put it this way........if Toyota fails to redesign the 2008 Sequoia properly; then I will "BUY" a Chevy Tahoe.

fo'runner, you make some good points about the Tahoe. It does sell ~150K units a year compared to the Sequoia's ~48K units.
Many manufacturers have improved their quality over the last few years.

Personally, both the Sequoia and Tahoe were too much vehicle for my needs so I bought the 4Runner.

My '96 Tahoe went over 272,000 miles before selling it to Carmax last October...but of course, that was two engines, 4 trips to the dealer in the first month, sevearl more trisp to the dealer just as the warranty went out, then no problems for a long time, then engine went out, then 3 alterantors, a/c rebuilt, power window motor, etc, etc, etc. Original tranny.

Toyota's incredible reliability is awsome, but Chevy is pretty darn better than Ford nad Dodge. However, Toyota better build a real pick up nad a real 3/4-1 ton with a diesel if it wants to get into the highly profitable HD truck crowd.

I agree the Tahoe and Suburban are rock solid. My 2003 4runner is also rock solid, but my 2005 Toyota Sienna has seen the dealer 4 times - the dash went out twice, ac went out once, and the moon roof rattles like its about to fall off.. I love my Toyota, but they got to stay on track!!

I can speak for GMC Yukon... My wife has a 2000 - first year of the redesign... Usually bad to buy the first year of a redesign, but we didn't have any choice. After almost 6 years and over 100k miles, I have had minimal issues (windshield washer tank that busted due to her filling it with water, one front axle seal was leaking at 95k miles, got water in one of the auto-ride solenoids that made the shock fail - water was drained and everything worked fine after that). All in all, I have spent less than $1000 in work to be done on the car (plus tires and maintenance), but it is still rock solid. This is my primary tow vehicle (4200lb boat towed 240 miles round trip about 15 times during the summer), and still pulls strong.

The real argument is, do you need this size of vehicle? The new Tahoe with the 5 link rear suspension and the coil overs in the front should be awesome... then add the new fuel saving measures of making it operate like a 4 cylinder when it is not under load, and you have some real competition for the Sequoia and Land Cruiser.
