Chilitown for Perseid Meteor Shower Aug 12th

Got smoked out in Alabama Hills from a fire in Olancha. The smoke didn't clear up 'til around Bishop and we ended up at Crowley Lake. Got a pizza from the general store (our new favorite 395 stop) and watched for about two hours. Saw 25 really good ones, long streaks, and a handful of normal shooters. All in all a solid night, even though the fire threw a wrench in our plans.

Think I made it over to your camp, right? Hahahah. I was a little tanked and I met so many new faces it's hard to remember who I met.

Yeah buddy. We met for a little bit. It was a good time. I was in the MGM. Great meeting you too man. We got to bring out some more 4Runners. The Tacos showed us up. LOL.

Thought so, I have a vague recollection of it. hahaha. Yeah, not too many people showed interest here surprisingly so it basically became a TW meetup with the T4R guys invited. I spend a lot of time on TW anyway and I've wheeled and camped with a lot of that group but there were a lot of San Diego guys I've never met before.

Yeah, I just joined TW this morning. TW seems a bit more active in the SoCal Treads. Overall it was a fun night. I took Old Dale Road back to the 10 FWY and it was def more adventurous than Gold Crown road.

I'm planning on going back out there later this fall when temps are down.

Nice. Under ahbot? I'll tag you in some threads. I'm dtaco06 over there (I've had my Tacoma longer than my 4runner) So Cal section is definitely more active there although it's really easy to fall behind on some of the threads.

Dude!! I was 1/4 mile from that store... we headed out about 10pm to the hot tubs off benton crossing... saw some meteors and had a good soak...
