(I am reposting this in the proper section (I think, lol), So let me know if I'm in the wrong area.)
Whats up, this is my first thread, I'm from AK. I am beginning my 4Runner build next week, Would like to document the process from start to end, and if anyone here has experience, maybe fish for advice and tips. The plan is to move the hatch forward behind the back seat and mate it to the cab, followed by either cutting a tacoma bed in half and narrowing it and adding that to the back half of the truck, or leaving the lower quarterpanels on and cutting the bed rails off the tacoma to cap the quarter panels. I am hoping that if I measure and research properly, and take adequate planning before hand, I can reinstall the panels and interior comforts and keep it looking as if it came that way with little modification.
I would like to post pics of the build as I go along and allow for advice to be given. If I'm in the wrong section let me know. And glad to be part of t4r community.
I will be trying to make it clean seamless and show worthy long enough for a pic, before I go out and hit some trails with it, lol.
I have done a couple of very small builds in the past, But this is my first real big deal project. I really want it to come with that first glance "I want!" look. So, again, Any advice, ideas, tips, or tricks as I go along will be crazy appreciated. I'm gonna try and update once a week to allow for said advice to roll in. And the first couple months will move pretty slow, seeing as I need to wait for the snow to melt before I can begin cutting. But I can start stripping it and measuring and work on the junkyard peices I'll need.
