Choppy Throttle Response on a 22RET

I'm experienceing some uneven acceleration/cruisin...slight bogging down, while driving my 22RET. Plugs, wires, fuel filter...basic tune up stuff was relatively recent.

Here are the symptoms:

Starts and idles with ease...I can rev it by hand or pedal in neutral and it's very smooth...with the clickity-clack.

First gear is torquey enough I can't tell...but in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, either on the gas, or maintaining speed and/rpm's, it feels like the engine bogs down, or loses a bit of power for a split second...then picks back up...does it again, over and over. It does this more when the engine warms up, and also whether or not the turbo is engaged. It feels exactly like a dirty fuel filter...or like a plugged cat. Not really sure where to start...any help is appreciated.

Throttle Position Sensor would be my guess.

rpm's seem pretty steady...it has the digital dash, and I watched the rpm's as it acted up...didn't see really any change.

It's probably not an engine thing then (tho I'm no expert) - does it feel abrupt, like maybe something in your drivetrain or brakes is grabbing or catching?

I'm assuming that you have an automatic transmission? If it only does that in certain gears than I would look towards your transmission. See if you can track down a FSM, there are some really good troubleshooting sections there for the auto tranny.

If it was an engine component then it should have the same symptoms regardless of what gear you're in.

It's a 5-sp, and does the exact same thing in all gears...I can't tell it in 1st because of how torquey it is, but it does it in every other gear.

Also...this happens for a split second, and corrects. t does this randomly, and repeatedly. It doesn't feel like annything catching like brakes or tranny.

Got it to work that way...good read, although a bit technically heavy for a complete noob to engine work, not that I can't figure it out. Sounds like a weekend project...being unfamiliar with these 22R's...and never having had a turbo engine before, I'll have to work slow.
